- We don’t buy other manufactures blanks and then finish machine the contours. Purchase only the raw bar stock from the best alloy steel mill suppliers.
- Alloy stock is inspected for core hardness prior to machining.
- Our manufacturing has inspection points to ensure compliance to tolerances at every step of the process.
- Gun drilling is done in house with our own methods of drill sharpening to maintain bore straightness. We can drill, ream and button rifle a barrel straight to 50 millions of an inch per inch.
- Our proprietary “smooth pull” button rifling process attains production bore finishes that are similar to hand lapped barrels. This process was developed by our engineers and George Metz. George was the engineer that made the rifling button for the first AR 15 for Eugene Stoner back in the 50’s. ZTOL designed and built our own custom rifling machine over two years of development from George’s concept. We can induce a 0.0002″ to 0.0003″ pinch on the muzzel end bore in production.
- Our STANDARD Barrels have 0.0002″ tolerance like other manufactures Select Match Grade Barrels! Our Match Grade Barrels and Select Match Grade barrels have our own grading criteria that effects accuracy.
- Our barrels are cryogenically stress relieved and spot annealed to maintain stability.
- Our consultant friends in drilling, reaming and button rifling are to top engineers in the firearms industry.
- ZTOL Precision Barrels went to the 2018 Marksmanship Technology Demonstration at the USMC Weapons Warfare Facility in Quantico, VA.
- Major manufacturers and custom rifle builders brought 6.5 Creedmore sniper rifles with bolt action chambers and 28 inch plus long barrels.
- We brought our .223 Wylde AR 15 semi-automatic service rifles with ZTOL 16 inch barrels. We held Sub MOA at the wall, 630 yards away.
- Consistent 5 inch and 5 1/2″ inch groups out of two different rifles.
- Our barrels are made here in Western Massachusetts which is the birthplace of firearms manufacture in the United States.
